Just a quick update to let you know, after all these months, that the project is still alive!
Please see comments in the following post to get a feeling of what is the current situation like.

This time, instead of promising, we will deliver. (see what I did there?)

Looking forward to it!

I just updated to the Jaunty release of Ubuntu and installed Straw, unfortunately I keep on getting errors in terminal and have been unable to get any new feed updates in Straw since I updated. Could you please take a look into this? The thread on Ubuntu forums is:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7165391
The specific error seems to be:
strawdbus.py:69:start_services: Error while connecting to NetworkManager: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Rejected send message, 7 matched rules; type=”method_call”, sender=”:1.75″ (uid=1000 pid=5088 comm=”/usr/bin/python /usr/bin/straw “) interface=”(unset)” member=”state” error name=”(unset)” requested_reply=0 destination=”:1.10″ (uid=0 pid=2848 comm=”/usr/sbin/NetworkManager –pid-file /var/run/Netwo”))
Any ideas? To email me just take out the spam in my address. I’ll be checking back in every so often but I’m planning on rolling back to an earlier (working) system that can run Straw properly.

Straw is dead, isn’t it?
No major response in over a year, despite promises of an update Real Soon Now (TM). Breakage on the latest release of a major distro. The comments page full of spam.
It’s dead Jim.
And that’s too bad, because this was such a promising project that really did make for a great truly offline feed reader.
I’ll miss it.
